Triple Crossing

Mr. Mudd has just optioned Sebastian Rotella's novel Triple Crossing, a contemporary crime thriller set at the Mexican-American border.

Valentine Pescatore, a volatile, young US border patrol agent is thrown into an undercover operation inside Mexico's most dangerous drug family, a politically protected group of narco-traffickers and assassins. Officials on both sides of the border suspect the family of aligning with a new mafia of Middle Eastern and Asian gangsters and terrorists based in the lawless triple border region of South America. Having infiltrated the heart of the network, an isolated and deeply compromised Valentine faces little chance of survival...unless he crosses the line.

Sebastian Rotella is a veteran correspondent for the Los Angeles Times where he has covered the US-Mexico Border, South America, and Western Europe. His career has focused particularly on investigative coverage of terrorism, organized crime, justice and human rights. His non-fiction book Twilight on the Line: Underworlds and Politics at the U.S.-Mexico Border was named a New York Times notable book of the year. Sebastian will adapt his novel for the screen.
